J & M Industries, Inc. is a minority owned small business. With 45 years of experience manufacturing tarpaulins using a wide variety of materials and manufacturing process, heat sealing, sewing and grommeting just to name a few. Our state of the art manufacturing facility includes over 200,000 square feet of production floor and 80,000 square feet of warehouse space.
J & M Industries, Inc. was started in February, 1973 in a garage in New Orleans, La. by Maurice Gaudet, III. J & M started as a recycler of coffee bean bags into burlap bags for use in the local feed, agriculture and oyster industries. Business really took off and after just two short years the Company moved into larger facilities in the wharf district of New Orleans. With the help of the Gaudet brothers and our dedicated employees, the Company expanded operations into new areas: manufacturing custom separation cloths for grains ships frequenting the port and new multi-use textile bags. Our products were welcomed in the industry, and we began to develop a reputation for innovative and practical solutions. Our ability to manufacture textile bags grew so rapidly that J & M soon became the lone survivor in a once-thriving textile bag industry in the city of New Orleans.
